The controversial novel that rocked the Muslim world is brought to vivid life in this energetic adaptation that was a Sundance Film Festival hit.  Yusef, a first generation Pakistani student, moves off campus with a group of Muslim punks in Buffalo, New York. His 'unorthodox' new housemates introduce him to Taqwacore, a vibrant punk movement that exists only on the West Coast. Their living room is a mosque during the day, while hosting punk parties at night. As time passes, Taqwacore begins to have a profound effect on Yusef's life, forcing him to challenge his own beliefs and ideals.
